What’s the best way to start a new lift? Is it essential to learn from a coach?

Many people learn proper form and mechanics by viewing videos and only pay a private trainer when they hit a serious stumbling block.

If you’re having difficulties with any of these, film yourself performing a lift and observe where you go wrong, as people’s proprioception isn’t always as excellent as they believe it is, especially when learning a new skill alone.
